Apprenticeship Scheme Success
With apprenticeships becoming more and more popular, Saffron Insurance is proud to have been supporting their staff through these schemes over the last three years. A number of staff who joined the business at a junior level and started on the apprenticeship scheme are now working to team leader/management level, which proves the value of this initial support.
Two recent recruits of Saffron who have joined the apprenticeship scheme attended an Apprenticeship Induction course in London which outlined how to get the most from their training. Out of a course of 20-30 delegates, Michael Sharp, who only joined the company in August after leaving school, was singled out by judges and awarded the best individual performance on the Apprentice Challenge presentation. He was awarded a £25 iTunes voucher, which was presented by Lee McQueen, who won the BBC TV show, The Apprentice, in 2008.
David Beswick, managing director, commented ‘Receiving a personal email from the training company, Broker Academy, saying what a pleasure it was to have our staff attend their course was exceptional. I am thrilled that both staff members represented both themselves and Saffron so well on the day. It is great to get such good feedback, and to be receiving awards is brilliant’.
Keith McGregor, HR director, commented ‘Training is the key foundation for our staff, and working in an FCA regulated industry there is a lot for new staff to learn. The apprenticeship schemes which we run gives them a great foundation to build on. We have a number of staff who, since the apprenticeship training, have gone on to achieve their Certificates and Diplomas in Insurance, and many more are working towards these’.
